Postcard Series
In these postcard-sized pieces, my intention is to recapture a moment or place in the inner and outer landscape of our lives. I paint a journey to a time and place that both myself and the viewer have forgotten existed. The postcard is a token of that moment – a moment that captures past connections, a joyfulness from the present, and a gift in the future. A calmness is reflected in each piece, and each individual painting embodies my energy at the time of painting while making visual emotional responses to time and space. When the painting passes from me to its new owner, this energy becomes theirs.
Each painting is an original work and allows the viewer to create their own narrative of the piece. The Postcard paintings provide stories without words and a place of escape that belongs only to the viewer. When you have an intimate connection with a place, going there in body or mind can strengthen you to make difficult journeys.
The Postcard paintings are 16cm x 15cm, come framed and ready to hang. They make an ideal gift, either for yourself or for someone close to you. I am passionate about art being accessible to all and the Postcard series reflects this.
